Claire Hall Decoupage Jewellery Materials List 2024.pdf

A list of the glass and materials needed to make the pieces taught in the course is the link above, a message from Claire:

I usually colour coordinate my pendants/earrings so when choosing your selection of glass to buy, stick to colours in the same scheme that work together. For example, a blue opal base works well with a blue or silver dichroic, rainbow clear Irid glass and blue powders. Only use white or black enamel, white enamel screen printed onto rainbow Irid clear 2mm looks great layered onto a blue opal base. Therefore, when choosing what you need to buy think of working within a similar colour range - you don’t need it all!

How it Works:

  • The course is made up of three live and interactive online sessions using the Zoom platform. You will find the zoom link via the week's chapters in the navigation panel.
  • Claire will give a step-by-step tutorial with demonstrations, and you will have ample opportunity to ask her questions during the live class
  • Each week they will demonstrate a technique for you to try between sessions
  • A member of the Glass School team will also be in the Zoom class to assist you and Claire
  • Mix with Claire and other students on our dedicated community page, open for the duration of the course. Then join our exclusive Glass School UK Online Glass Community Facebook group to continue to mix with those who have attended any of our online masterclasses
  • A materials list is provided in the course navigation panel, so you can purchase what you need to create your pieces during the course. You don’t need absolutely everything on this list to be successful, Claire will discuss different ways to reach your technical goals

We believe that this is the best way to get the very most from the course, but if this doesn’t suit you that’s fine: - If you can’t get to your studio, you can still learn the techniques and benefit from Claire's extensive knowledge without making the pieces during the course itself.

This is a live online masterclass, but in case a student experiences issues with internet connection during the live class, a recording of each live session will be available to view until two weeks after the final session. This cannot be downloaded or shared and is only available for this limited time. By participating you agree to be recorded for this purpose.

These recordings will be available in the course navigation panel.

Claire Hall

Claire's passion for glass began during her years travelling across the United States when she met a small community of glass artists in the mountains of West Virginia and started to learn the basics of glass fusing and torchwork. Originally trained as a sculptor working in wood and steel, the material of hot glass easily translated into her work. It was at this time Claire also started designing and creating glass jewellery, making glass beads over a hot torch and fused glass jewellery in a kiln. Since then she has moved back to the UK and now works from her studio in Brockley, near Bristol. She has won several awards for her glass jewellery and exhibits nationally. Last year she was selected to showcase her sculptural vessels and jewellery at The National Glass Centre in Sunderland. Claire has been teaching classes at Warm Glass since 2012.
